The latest version of the software is:
3.02

The version of the software you are using should be visible when you start the program and can be displayed at any point by selecting the About button on the Main Menu.

If you click the "Check Updates" button (version 3.0 and later), your software should be checked and any updates should be automatically downloaded from our servers. Please note that the file may be large and may take some time to download depending on your connection speed.

If you want to manually load a new version, the following steps can be taken:
First, be sure to have the Capture My Assets software closed.
Locate your copy of the software. Within that structure, a folder named "files" should be found.

Open that folder and locate the file named "CaptureMyAssets.dxr"

Rename that file to something different, keeping it just in case the new version does not work for you and you need to revert to this old version.

Download the new file by clicking this link: Download.
Save the file to the same folder your old one was located - it must be named "CaptureMyAssets.dxr".
Start the program and make sure you see the new expected version number.

Here are some of the highlights of Version 3.00 of the product:

We have had a lot of great feedback regarding our software and we appreciate all of it. However, there has been one topic that continues to be important to many people – the ability to customize the fields to better match their information.

So, we have added these new features to hopefully accommodate these needs:
Personalization of the labels for the current fields
Addition of 12 "custom" fields so more details can be entered
Ability to turn on/off fields on the Asset reports

Below are some quick details on how to access these new features.
There is a new button on the bottom of the Main Menu — Customize.

You can now personalize the labels for each field by entering the desired one in each box next to the originals. You can also check the boxes for the fields to be included on the Asset reports.

In the example below, the user wants "Asset Name" to be "Item", "Custom 1" to be "Color", and so on. They also want only a select group of fields to be included on their reports...all others without a check next to them will not be included.

Now, jumping over to the Asset Definition screen...you will see a new button – Custom.  Click it to reveal the new input boxes.
The images are then replaced with the custom field input area. Clicking the button again hides these fields and returns to the normal view. Notice the personalized labels have been applied to this screen including "Item" and the custom field labeled "Color".

And the Asset report shows just the fields I have checked, including the custom ones at the bottom:

Here are some of the highlights of Version 2.00 of the product:
Both Windows and Mac OS X are supported and are delivered in the same package. The data is stored in the same format for all versions of the software so viewing and editing your information should be easier than ever!

For additional security, you are asked to create a PIN at the time of activation that is required each time you use the software.

You can now duplicate an existing asset definition, simplifying the input of similar items.

After creating a backup, you are asked if you wish to save a copy of the backup file to another location just so your data is safe.

The Asset Definition now includes a Print Options button allowing you to print a complete summary or a copy to insert into your binder.

The software now provides a way to automatically download updates (requires internet connection) so any issues can be resolved quickly as well as new features added transparently!
